The Inter Section Quiz Competition for the July Term 2025 was held at the Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC) on 07 October 2025. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from all four sections — Pratap, Ranjit, Shivaji, and Chandragupta.
Cadets showcased their knowledge and quick thinking across multiple rounds covering current affairs, Ask and Quiz, Science and tech, Audio, Video, Buzzer, Do or Die, Sports and Audience Round. The competition was intense and engaging, reflecting the cadets’ keen intellect and team spirit.
At the conclusion of the contest, Ranjit Section emerged as the winner of the Inter Section Quiz Competition.
The Commandant and members of the staff congratulated the participants for their commendable effort, teamwork, and enthusiasm throughout the event.
RIMC cadets are traditionally sent on mid-term excursions to various locations. However, due to inclement weather and flood-like conditions, this term’s hikes were cancelled. In lieu of the outbound expeditions, the College curated a diverse range of on-campus and local activities, tailored to the interests and enthusiasm of the cadets.
28 September – 02 October 2025
RIMC, in coordination with 42 Infantry Brigade, organised a series of engaging military-oriented activities, including drone training, a weapon display, and .22 rifle firing. Additionally, 2 Para (SF) extended support in conducting a rock climbing module, offering cadets a hands-on introduction to adventure and endurance-based challenges.
The Greenhorns (Class VIII) were given extended exposure to foundational skill development in horse riding, squash, and swimming, encouraging early physical literacy and confidence.
The mid-term break commenced with a movie screening for the entire College at a local mall, and will culminate in cadets proceeding on a day out on 2 October 2025. As a fitting finale, a DJ Night is scheduled on 1 October, featuring spot performances by cadets, ensuring a memorable and vibrant close to the program.
An inter-class volleyball tournament, fully initiated and organised by the cadets themselves, is being conducted throughout the break, fostering team spirit and camaraderie.
Despite the unforeseen cancellation of the mid-term hikes, the College successfully upheld the spirit of adventure and exploration through a thoughtfully curated program of activities. This “Brain Break Bonanza” has not only provided a much-needed respite from academic routine but has also contributed significantly to the cadets' holistic development — combining fun, learning, and leadership in equal measure.
The Inter Section Soccer Competition for the July Term 2025 was held at the Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC) from 23 September to 26 September 2025. The event saw spirited participation from all four sections — Pratap, Ranjit, Shivaji, and Chandragupta — each displaying exemplary teamwork, strategy, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.
The matches were played with great enthusiasm and competitive energy, with cadets showcasing their footballing skills and determination on the field. After a series of exciting and closely contested encounters, Shivaji Section emerged victorious, clinching the championship title.
The Commandant and members of the staff congratulated the winning team and appreciated all participants for their discipline, teamwork, and sportsman spirit. The competition once again highlighted RIMC’s focus on all-round development and excellence in sports.
The RIMC Squash Opens held from 20th to 24th September 2025 concluded with great enthusiasm, showcasing the spirit of competition, teamwork, and excellence among the cadets. The tournament witnessed intense matches across various categories, with players displaying remarkable skill and determination.
In the BU-13 category, Cdt Bhavik Yadav (C) emerged as the winner, while Cdt Manav (P) finished as the runner-up. The BU-15 title was claimed by Cdt Aarush Rana (P), with Cdt Tanmay Sharma (R) securing the runner-up position.
The BU-17 category witnessed a spirited contest where Cdt Gurkeerat Singh (P) clinched the title, and Cdt Parth Kumar Tiwari (C) stood as runner-up. In the Girls’ category, Cdt Mukta Dhull (P) impressed everyone with her skillful play, taking the winner’s trophy, followed by Cdt Akanksha (P) as the runner-up.
In the Men’s (Open) category, Cdt Gurkeerat Singh (P) once again showcased outstanding form, winning the title against Cdt Parth Kumar Tiwari (C). His consistent performance throughout the tournament earned him the prestigious Best Player of the Tournament award.
The Most Promising Player title went to Cdt Sunny Kumar Singh (P) for his commendable performance and potential.

The RIMC Squash Opens 2025 not only celebrated victory but also reflected the Academy’s commitment to nurturing discipline, excellence, and a spirit of healthy competition among its cadets.
The Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC), Dehradun, once again showcased its intellectual prowess and oratory excellence by securing the first position in the historic Kashi Naresh Bhagirath Narayan Singh All-India Hindi Debate Competition. Held from September 15 to 17, the event witnessed spirited participation from students of 14 prestigious schools across the country, who presented a rich blend of ideas, reasoning, and eloquence.
The competition was organized to promote the Hindi language in the spirit of Hindi Diwas (September 14) and to nurture reasoning ability, sensitivity, and communication skills among the youth.
The final round, held at the Thimayya Auditorium, featured a face-off between RIMC, Sherwood College, Doon International School, and Scindia Kanya Vidyalaya. The panel of judges included Prof. Ashish Raturi Pragya, Prof. Poonam Pathak, and Prof. Ram Vinay Singh. Former IAS officer Dr. Sanjeev Chopra graced the occasion as Chief Guest, while Mrs. Rajat Shakti, Head of 93.5 FM Dehradun, was present as the Special Guest.
With sharp reasoning and impactful delivery, the RIMC cadets captivated both the judges and the audience. Cadet Ajay Singh was declared Best Speaker, while Cadet Parth Kumar Tiwari shared the Second Best Speaker award with Devishi Uniyal of Doon International School.

The event also brought out the cadets’ multifaceted talents. On September 16, the RIMC Music Club presented mesmerizing performances with Cadet Anjo on the violin and Cadet Jai on the flute. The concluding day featured an engaging talk show with RJ Nidhi from 93.5 Red FM.
The ceremony concluded with the prize distribution and a formal dinner, celebrating the spirit of dialogue and critical thinking. In keeping with tradition, RIMC handed over the rolling trophy to runner-up Doon International School, conveying a message of camaraderie and gratitude.
On this occasion, RIMC Commandant Col. Rahul Agrawal remarked:

This competition not only served as a platform to enhance the cadets’ intellectual and oratory skills but also enriched the celebration of Hindi by promoting its cultural depth and relevance on the occasion of Hindi Diwas.
On Sunday, 7th September 2025, the cadets of RIMC enthusiastically participated in the D.A.D. Marathon held at the Parade Ground, Dehradun, as part of the campaign “Dehradun Against Drugs.”
A total of 15 girl cadets up to Class III, including Class I cadets, took part in the event. The spirited young runners, along with the accompanying staff, successfully completed the marathon and thoroughly enjoyed the experience of running alongside hundreds of other participants from across the city. The event not only promoted fitness but also reinforced the importance of spreading awareness against drug abuse.
The cadets were escorted and guided by Mr. Sanjay Kumar (Adventure Coordinator), Section Masters Mr. U.P. Dalvi and Mr. P.N. Naik, Ms. Shashi Sharma, Hav. Pradeep Singh, and Hav. Rakesh Singh, who ensured the smooth and safe conduct of the participation.
The RIMC contingent earned wide appreciation for their energy, discipline, and commitment, leaving a strong impression while contributing to this meaningful campaign.
On 8th September 2025, the cadets of the Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC), Dehradun, experienced a moment of immense pride as Maj Gen M. P. S. Gill, VSM, General Officer Commanding, Uttarakhand Sub Area, and a distinguished Rimcollian, visited the College for inspection.
His homecoming was a profound honour for the institution. The General’s presence reinforced the enduring bond between RIMC and the Armed Forces, while serving as a source of inspiration for the young cadets. His words of encouragement urged them to uphold the rich traditions of discipline, excellence, and service to the nation that embody the ethos of RIMC.
During the visit, Maj Gen Gill toured the College campus and reviewed its facilities, expressing appreciation for the infrastructure and training environment provided to the cadets. He also commended Col Rahul Agarwal, Commandant RIMC, for his dedicated leadership and vision in steering the institution towards continued excellence.
The General’s interaction with the cadets, enriched by anecdotes from his illustrious military career, instilled in them a renewed sense of pride and determination to carry forward the legacy of their alma mater with honour and distinction.
On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, 5th September 2025, the RIMC Girls’ Cycling Team organized a commemorative ride from the College Campus to Sainya Dham, Dehradun. A total of 16 girls, including riders up to Class IIA, participated in this memorable event.
The team set off at 0615 hrs from the College (NCM) and successfully completed the 21 km ride through the cool, green cityscape of Dehradun, culminating at the Sainya Dham Memorial. The riders displayed enthusiasm, energy, and discipline throughout the journey.
At the memorial, the team gathered for a group photograph to mark the occasion. The ride was ably led by Mr. Sanjay Kumar (Adventure Coordinator), Lt Col Rakesh Kumar (Training Officer), Section Masters Mr. U.P. Dalvi and Mr. Naik, along with Ms. Nikita and Ms. Shashi Sharma.
The Commandant, Col Rahul Agarwal, congratulated the team on their successful completion of the ride, appreciating their spirit and achievement.

RIMC Dehradun hosted the Rashtriya Military Schools Principals’ Conclave (03–04 Sep 2025) bringing together Principals of RMS Bengaluru, Chail, Ajmer, Belgaum & Dholpur. The two-day meet saw rich exchanges on academics, sports, cultural activities, faculty development, girl cadet integration & NDA exam prep. The conclave reaffirmed synergy between premier feeder institutes in shaping disciplined, fit & academically excellent cadets for #NDA & #NA.
On 1st September 2025, two cadets from RIMC participated in the Pandit Bhanupratap Shukla Interschool Hindi Creative Writing and Declamation Competition. Cdt Rajkumar secured the third position and received a cash prize of ₹15,000, while Cdt Trijal Malik, who took part in the Declamation Competition, was lauded for his impressive speech.
A proud and historic moment unfolded at the Uttarakhand State Shooting Championship 2025, where RIMC cadets showcased nerves of steel and unmatched precision, clinching a total of 19 medals in individual and team events.
With 19 podium finishes, RIMC cadets once again proved their mettle, discipline, and excellence, bringing glory to the Institute and the Nation.
Squash continues to be one of the most popular and competitive sports at the College, and this year’s District Squash Championship added another glorious chapter to its tradition. Our cadets returned with an impressive tally of 10 medals — 1 Gold, 3 Silver, and 6 Bronze across age categories and open events.
The championship not only brought laurels to the College but also inspired upcoming players to raise their game. With such a stellar performance, RIMC's squash team has once again set the bar high, reinforcing its legacy of excellence on court.

Educational visits are an integral part of RIMC, dedicated to the overall holistic development of cadets. Each term, cadets of different classes get an opportunity to explore various institutions, providing them exposure to diverse fields of knowledge, history, science, and culture.
Class I & IA: Cadets visited the Forest Research Institute and Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology,
where they appreciated nature, geography, and Himalayan geology.
Class II: They explored the Survey of India, deepening their knowledge of history.
Class IIA: Cadets visited the Regional Science Centre, discovering principles of physics and chemistry,
and enjoyed a 3D movie along with a constellation show.
Class III: Cadets visited the National Hydrographic Office, gaining insights into hydrographic surveys
and nautical charts.
Class IIIA: They explored the Rashtrapati Niketan, witnessing glimpses of presidential history.
Class IV: Cadets visited the Subir Raha Oil Museum, learning about petroleum and fossil fuel conservation.
Class IVA: They experienced the IMA, Dehradun, which motivated them to pursue higher goals.
Class VA: Cadets appreciated the importance of wildlife conservation at the Wildlife Institute of India.
From 4th August to 12th August, cadets witnessed the thrilling Inter-Section Basketball Championship. Each section displayed unwavering determination, showcasing impressive teamwork, strategy, and sporting skills. The competition was intense, with every section vying for the coveted trophy.
In the end, Ranjit Section emerged victorious, followed by Chandragupta, Pratap, and Shivaji Sections.
The championship not only highlighted the cadets' athletic excellence but also reinforced values of teamwork, discipline, and competitive spirit.
The college went on a spiritual note as the cadets celebrated Janmashtami on 16th August. The event began at 1700 hours in the temple with a temple parade by the cadets.
During the programme, cadets were briefed about the significance of the Janmashtami festival, which was followed by a mesmerizing Kathak performance by family members of the Team RIMC. The temple echoed with claps as the holy prayer began.
It was a delightful evening where cadets not only celebrated the festival but also imbibed the essence of Unity in Diversity, a value cherished by RIMC and our nation.
On a pleasant monsoon morning, 24 new cadets of Class I, accompanied by four MOS, set out for the much-awaited Naag Mandir Trek. The group departed at 0615 hrs by college bus to the road head at Kimadi, from where they trekked through Rikholi and onward to Naag Mandir.
The refreshing monsoon weather added to the charm of the 6 km trek. Upon reaching the temple, a puja ceremony was performed, followed by a hearty breakfast. Group photographs were also taken to capture the memorable moments.
The trek was successfully completed under the able guidance of Lt Col Rakesh, Mr Sanjay Kumar, Section Master Mr U. P. Dalvi, Section Master Mr Naik, and Ms Sashi Sharma, who led the cadets throughout this enriching outdoor experience.
From 28 July to 7 August, cadets enthusiastically prepared for and competed in the Chess Open, with a total of 109 participants. The event was designed to sharpen the cadets’ mental capabilities, and the overwhelming participation reflected its success.
Overall, it was a well-conducted event that not only celebrated talent but also motivated cadets to push the horizons of their mental capabilities, paving the way for a brighter future.
RIMC welcomed Class I cadets for the July Term 2025, marking the beginning of their journey at the prestigious institution. The joining day was filled with pride and enthusiasm as parents accompanied their wards to the campus.
The cadets completed joining formalities, attended orientation sessions, and were introduced to the traditions, discipline, and ethos of RIMC.
This fresh intake strengthens the cadet fraternity and reaffirms RIMC's legacy of grooming future leaders of the Armed Forces.
Thimayya Auditorium echoed with cheers of the cadets as the Inter-Section Hindi Debates took place on 8th August. Cadets were captivated by the powerful clashes of thought, while the judges — Mrs Sangeeta Rawat, Dr Jyoti Srivastava, and Shri Manoj Pandey — used their wisdom and experience to evaluate the participants.
The event celebrated the cadets' oratory skills, critical thinking, and confidence, making it a memorable occasion in the academic calendar of RIMC.
On 1st–2nd August, Doon International School hosted the Amrit Chhaya Inter-School Hindi Debates.
RIMC participated in both categories: Tarkpeeth (Juniors) and Kurukshetra (Seniors). The juniors team (Cdt. Arya Singh & Cdt. Shambhavi) and seniors team (Cdt. Abhishek Kumar, Cdt. Krishna Salgotra & Cdt. Vedant Rai) performed consistently well, reaching the finals.
With strong performances throughout, RIMC was declared Overall Winner, defeating 14 participating schools.
On the morning of 4th August, 13 cadets of the RIMC Dronacharya Shooting Club left the campus to participate in the School State Shooting Championship.
Their meticulous hard work paid off as the cadets came out with flying colours. RIMC won a total of 13 medals across individual and team events.
This remarkable performance once again highlighted the discipline, precision, and dedication of RIMC cadets, making the Institute proud.
On 29th July 2025, an insightful and engaging session was conducted with the cadets, shedding light on Operation Sindoor—a shining example of the bravery, precision, and compassion of our armed forces. This opportunity, facilitated by NCERT and the Ministry of Defence, enabled cadets to receive detailed briefings on India’s successful mission against terrorism. The talk was delivered by Brigadier Sanjay Sharma, Sena Medal, Commander of the 42 Infantry Brigade, who connected deeply with the youth through his discussions and presentations, instilling in them a profound sense of pride. The event proved to be a memorable experience for the cadets, deepening their understanding of Sanatan Dharma, Indian classical music, and the sacrifices of Kargil’s brave martyrs and their families.
On 25th July 2025, cadets attended the Kargil Vijay Diwas celebration organized by the Veernari Resettlement Foundation, an NGO dedicated to supporting the families of martyred soldiers. During the event, they interacted with Veer Betis, who expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the foundation’s support during difficult times.
The highlight of the programme was a mesmerizing performance by Artist Krishna Shakti, who captivated the audience with the Shiva Tandava Stotram at Thimayya Auditorium, receiving thunderous applause. The event proved to be a memorable experience for the cadets, deepening their understanding of Sanatan Dharma, Indian classical music, and the sacrifices of Kargil’s brave martyrs and their families.
On 20th July 2025, RIMC welcomed double Olympic medalist Ms. Manu Bhaker to its prestigious campus. Cadets were delighted as she visited the college shooting range, sharing valuable tips and techniques with them.
Cadets of Class V and VA had the special privilege of interacting with her and capturing a memorable group photograph. In her guest lecture, she engaged with the wider cadet body, answering questions about her Olympic journey and offering deep insights into the world of competitive shooting. Her visit proved to be a powerful source of inspiration, motivating cadets to pursue excellence and prepare with renewed determination for future competitions.
On 16th July 2025, cadets were thrilled as Maj Gen M. P. S. Gill, VSM, GOC Uttarakhand Sub Area, inaugurated the newly upgraded Iron Forge Gym. Outfitted with the latest high-performance equipment, the facility is designed to maximize the physical potential of every cadet.
The foresight and dedication of the RIMC team, under the visionary leadership of Commandant Col Rahul Agarwal, is truly commendable — marking a significant step towards building a stronger and fitter generation.
As part of the Faculty Development Programme (FDP) under the seminar series, RIMC organized a three-day training and development workshop for its teachers from 14th to 16th July 2025. The initiative aimed at fostering professional growth and strengthening interpersonal bonds among the faculty through thoughtfully curated activities and seminars. The sessions opened with a perceptive talk on Mental Health of Teachers by school counsellor Ms. Prearana Gulati, followed by engaging presentations on Experiential Learning, Facets of Informal Learning, and the Code of Conduct delivered by Lt Cdr Sangeeta.
The following days further enriched the programme with yoga and Zumba sessions for fitness, and in-house seminars on Student-Centric Learning Approaches and Addressing Digital Addiction in Students. The highlight came with an enlightening address by Mrs. Jyotsana Brar, former principal of Welham’s Girls School, who spoke on the Intangibles of Teaching.
Gen Devendra Sharma, PVSM, AVSM, SM, GOC-in-C, ARTRAC, visited Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC), Dehradun, to review infrastructure and development projects on campus.
Col Rahul Agarwal, Comdt RIMC, briefed the Army Commander on the College’s exceptional UPSC results — with 28 cadets selected for NDA/NA (I) 2025, including AIR 1 and five in the Top 20. The Army Cdr interacted with faculty and lauded their commitment to shaping future military leaders through discipline, dedication, and excellence.
14 cadets of RIMC from class IIA and class III embarked on their visit to the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Darjeeling on the evening of 24th May and reached their destination the following day. The cadets were filled with enthusiasm and zeal to cover their long awaited journey to the peaks of West Bengal, Sikkim and Nepal.
It was an adventure packed journey, full of treks in dense forests and to the apex of mountains. The instructors at HMI had planned various team building and skill enriching activities for the 269th adventure course of the institute. The cadets covered a long trail consisting of places like Jaubari and Kalapokhari in Nepal, the highest peak of West Bengal-Sandakphu, the Singalila National park spread over India and Nepal
The Graduation Ceremony of the 197th Course was held on 31 May 2025 at RIMC. The event marked the successful completion of an inspiring and eventful journey for the graduating cadets. Certificates and awards were presented in recognition of their outstanding achievements.
The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks and best wishes for the cadets' bright futures. The occasion witnessed pride, emotion, and a celebration of excellence. A defining moment in the history of RIMC’s legacy of leadership and service.
Following the culmination of final examinations, RIMC conducted a vibrant and action-packed Summer Multi-Activity Camp designed to impart specialized skill training, promote holistic development, and discover new talent among cadets before they proceeded for summer vacations.
The camp included multiple capsule courses and tournaments that catered to various interests and class groups:
Squash Training Capsule was organized for cadets of Junior Classes I, IA, II, and IIA, providing them with foundational techniques and enhancing their court awareness.
Equestrian Training Capsule was conducted for Classes II, IIA, IVA, and V, offering cadets hands-on experience in horsemanship and equestrian discipline under expert guidance.
A specially curated Shooting Capsule – “My Target First” was conducted exclusively for the RIMC Marksmanship Team, sharpening their aim, focus, and trigger discipline in preparation for upcoming competitions.
The highly anticipated RIMC Open Badminton Tournament witnessed thrilling matches in both Boys' and Girls' Doubles categories:
In the Boys' category, two teams advanced to the finals: Cdt Sec Cdr Kartik Pant & Cdt Shourya Sharma, and Cdt Senthil & Cdt Darsh Agarwal. The dynamic duo of Kartik and Shourya emerged victorious.
In the Girls' category, the team of G/Cdt Agnis & G/Cdt Arnika clashed in the finals with G/Cdt Shambhvi & G/Cdt Sanjeeveni. The latter showcased exceptional coordination to lift the title.
The major highlight of the camp was the Inter-Section Basketball Tournament, with four teams—Juniors, Middles, Seniors, and Girls—competing with immense zeal. Notably, this was the first time a Girls' team participated in the Inter-Section Tournament and contributed points toward the Inter-Section Trophy, marking a milestone in RIMC's journey towards inclusivity and equal opportunity in sports.
After intense and spirited competition across the events, Ranjit Section emerged as the overall champions, proudly lifting the coveted Inter-Section Trophy.
The five-day sporting extravaganza culminated in a high-spirited Friendly Basketball Match between the Commandant’s Team and the Vice Principal’s Team, symbolizing camaraderie and collective celebration. The event saw enthusiastic participation from all wings of the RIMC fraternity, including faculty, staff, and cadets, reflecting the ethos of unity and sportsmanship.

The Ranjit Section emerged as the overall champion of the competition, followed by Chandragupta, Shivaji, and Pratap sections.

Making meaningful use of the holiday, RIMC organised a 60 km cycle expedition for 20 cadets accompanied by two masters to India’s first Lekhak Gaon at Dharkot, Thano on 11 May 25. This initiative, aimed at promoting fun with fitness, also offered a valuable opportunity for cadets to explore a unique literary and ecological hub.
At Lekhak Gaon, the RIMC Cycling Team had the pleasant opportunity to interact with Hon’ble Shri Ramesh Pokhariyal ‘Nishank’, Member of Parliament and former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand. During the interaction, Shri Nishank ji shared insights into the history, concept, and future vision of Lekhak Gaon as a writers’ village and cultural retreat.
The cadets also visited key attractions including Sparsh Himalaya, Sanjivani Vatika, and Navgrah Vatika, enriching their understanding of regional ecology and heritage.
The Inter-Section Hockey Tournament for April 2025 was successfully conducted at RIMC, providing an excellent platform for cadets to demonstrate their skills, stamina, and competitive spirit. The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from all four sections, with cadets displaying exemplary sportsmanship, discipline, and teamwork throughout the event.
In the Junior Category, Ranjit Section showcased outstanding performance to secure the Championship Title, while Shivaji Section earned the Runners-up position with commendable effort.
The Senior Category featured a highly competitive and thrilling final, where Chandragupta Section emerged victorious, clinching the Gold Medal after a closely contested match. Ranjit Section once again performed admirably, securing the Silver Medal.
Owing to their consistent and impressive performances across both categories, Ranjit Section was adjudged the Overall Champion of the Tournament.
The Tula's Squash Open Tournament 2025 was held on 21st and 22nd April 2025 at Tula's International School, Dehradun. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from various institutions, with RIMC cadets showcasing remarkable performances across different categories.
Our cadets demonstrated exceptional skill and sportsmanship throughout the tournament, resulting in an impressive medal tally: 5 Gold, 3 Silver, and 5 Bronze medals.

From 16th to 20th April 2025, thirteen cadets of Class V/VA from RIMC, Dehradun, embarked on a memorable hiking-cum-educational trip to NDA, Pune, accompanied by Mr. U.P. Dalvi and Lt Col Rakesh Kumar. Upon arrival, the cadets were hosted at HQ 330 Infantry Brigade under the leadership of Brig S. Taluja, where they were warmly welcomed with an interaction and evening tea.
The highlight of the trip was the visit to the prestigious National Defence Academy. The cadets toured key NDA establishments including the Air Force Technical Training (AFTT) wing, Equestrian Training Team (ETT), and the PTT section. They had the privilege of meeting the NDA Commandant, Vice Admiral Gurcharan Singh, AVSM, NM, and presented him with a college memento. Interactions with Rimcollian alumni posted at NDA and a visit to the Naval Node at Peacock Bay further enriched the experience, culminating in a group lunch with NDA cadets and a visit to the Mall of the Millennium.
The following days included continued engagement with military training and cultural exposure. Cadets had the unique opportunity to meet all Rimcollians currently at NDA during a special gathering, followed by a fun-filled visit to Wet 'n Joy Water and Amusement Park. On 19th April, they had tea with senior officers, including Lt Gen S.P. Singh, YSM, and visited the Cadets Training Wing (CTW) at the College of Military Engineering (CME), where they were hosted by Col Ravi Bhasyum (Retd), Maj Ayub, and Lt Col Varun Jaiswal. The cadets also enjoyed an unforgettable rowing and sailing session at the Army Rowing Node (ARN). The trip offered a perfect blend of physical activity, military exposure, and camaraderie-building, leaving the young cadets inspired and enriched by the experience.
Thrilled to see our RIMC cadets soaking up inspiration at the Indian Naval Academy (INA) - Asia's largest naval academy! This educational-cum-motivational visit offered a first hand glimpse into life in the #IndianNavy, igniting passion for a future in uniform.

In a historic milestone that underscores its unmatched legacy, the Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC), Dehradun has once again etched its name in glory. Cadet Imon Ghosh from West Bengal has secured All India Rank 1 in the National Defence Academy and Naval Academy (NDA/NA) Examination (II) 2024, conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
RIMC held its Parent-Teacher Meet (PTM) on the 11th and 12th of April 2025. The event provided a valuable platform for meaningful interaction between the parents and the academic staff, focusing on the holistic development of the cadets.
Parents were briefed about their ward's academic progress, discipline, participation in co-curricular activities, and overall performance in the campus environment.
The meet reinforced the strong bond between home and school, ensuring that cadets continue to excel in their academic pursuits and character development. The event concluded on a positive note, with mutual appreciation and a shared vision for nurturing future leaders.
In a commendable effort to break the monotony of conventional teaching methods and make Mathematics more engaging, the Mathematics Department at RIMC organized a dynamic two-tier Intra-Class Mathematics Quiz for the Cadets of Classes III and IIIA.
The preliminary round was held on February 8, 2025, in the form of a written test. Cadets were challenged with 20 thought-provoking questions to be solved within 40 minutes, assessing their mathematical aptitude, verbal reasoning, and non-verbal reasoning skills.
Based on their performance, four teams were formed-each representing a Section. Every team comprised two cadets each from Class III and IIIA, ensuring a collaborative and inclusive competition format.

RIMC had the honor of hosting Maj Gen Vikram Dev Dogra, AVSM, for an inspiring guest lecture on March 24, 2025. A decorated officer and a pioneer in endurance sports, he shared his philosophy of "ACT NOW", motivating cadets to pursue their dreams with clarity, discipline, and resilience.
During his address, Maj Gen Dogra emphasized the importance of self-confidence, goal-setting, and perseverance. Drawing from his personal journey of completing the Ironman Triathlon, he highlighted key strategies such as visualization, breaking down goals, maintaining positive pressure, and staying committed despite failures.
His visit left a lasting impact on the cadets, reinforcing the belief that with determination and action, no dream is out of reach. RIMC extends its gratitude to Maj Gen Dogra for his invaluable insights and encouragement.
RIMC boy and girl cadets, led by officers and teachers, proudly participated in the Veerathon – a run for our unsung heroes, supporting veterans and promoting fitness. Held on Sunday, 23 March 2025, the event saw 20 girl cadets, 74 boys, faculty, and officers competing in a 10 km race for boys and a 5 km run for girls. With enthusiastic participation, Veerathon 2025 proved to be a true tribute to endurance, teamwork, and the spirit of service.
RIMC hosted the Inter Section Equestrian Championship 2025 on March 21-22, 2025, showcasing the riding prowess and competitive spirit of cadets. The championship witnessed thrilling performances as sections vied for top honors. The prestigious Col PP Singh Inter Section Horse Riding Trophy was awarded to Pratap Section.

In keeping with its tradition of excellence, the Rashtriya Indian Military College, (RIMC) Dehradun, has once again demonstrated its supremacy in grooming future military leaders. On 2nd February 2025, RIMC organized a 5 km trek and nature walk in Mussoorie for 22 girls cadets. The event was led by Commandant Colonel Rahul Agarwal and accompanied by other MOS. RIMC celebrated the 76th Republic Day with a spirited Virtual Cycling and Running Challenge on 26th January 2025. The event, saw enthusiastic participation from cadets and staff, showcasing their commitment to fitness and patriotism. The day began with a cycling event, where 4 MOS and 20 cadets from classes IA to IVA embarked on a 25 km ride. The route stretched from the college Patiala Pavilion to Khalanga War Memorial, symbolizing the spirit of determination and endurance. The cycling team was flagged off at 0700 hrs by the First Lady of the College, Mrs. Silvi Agarwal, and was led by Adventure Coordinator, Mr. Sanjay Kumar. Simultaneously, a running event was organized within the Garhi Cantonment, Dehradun, offering participants the choice of a 5 km or 10 km run. The running team was led by Commandant Colonel Rahul Agarwal and the MOS. A total of 63 cadets, including newcomers from Class I, participated in the run, demonstrating their enthusiasm and physical prowess.
With 28 Gold Featherists and 96 Silver Featherists, RIMC continues its tradition of academic brilliance. These accolades highlight the remarkable dedication and perseverance of cadets striving for excellence in their studies. The Commandant and faculty extended their heartfelt congratulations to the achievers, wishing them the best of luck and greater success in their future endeavors. The Faculty Development Programme at RIMC, held from 14th to 16th January 2025, was a resounding success, fostering professional growth and camaraderie among the faculty. The three-day event featured insightful sessions, including a presentation on AI in teaching, time management strategies, and enhancing emotional intelligence. Esteemed speakers like Dr. SS Rajput and Dr. Surya shared their expertise, leaving a lasting impact. Engaging activities such as a family movie screening, a picnic, and fun games brought faculty members and their families together, adding a personal touch to the program. The FDP concluded on a high note, leaving attendees enriched and inspired for the term ahead.
The 196th Course Graduation Ceremony on 30th November 2024 was a spectacular event, graced by Maj Gen Naveen Mahajan SM, GOC 14 Infantry Division, whose inspiring words on leadership and perseverance left a lasting impact. The event featured cultural performances, including classical dance, English drama, and a Mandarin skit, alongside a memorable performance by the masters. Highlights included the awards ceremony, where Cdt Abhijat Rawat earned the prestigious "Wavell Sword" for excellence in academics, and Cdt Akshaj Dutt Sharma received the "Sword of Honour."
Inter Section Drill Competition was organised on 14 November, 2024. Total 120 Cadets participated in the Competition and demonstrated a high standard of fitness, confidence, coordination and precision. The Chandragupta Section was emerged as overall Champion of the Competition, closely followed by Pratap, Ranjit and Shivaji Section.
Thirty-one cadets of Class III A along with masters Mr Shishupal Singh and Dr Sudhir gupta, embarked on an exciting hike to GRRC, Lansdowne from 27th to 30th October 2024. On the first day, the cadets witnessed a cultural program titled Chakravyuha at the parade ground—a drama performed in dance form in the Garhwali language. On the second day, the cadets visited the Garhwali Officers' Mess, VC Darwan Singh Museum, Bhullatal, the Rock Climbing area, the Regimental Temple, and Kamleshwar Mahadev Temple. They enjoyed boating and archery and had the opportunity to interact with Brigadier V. S. Negi, VSM, Commandant of GRRC, Lansdowne. The cadets were fortunate to practice air rifle and pistol shooting. On the way back, they visited the Sidhbali Temple at Kotdwar.
On 2nd November 2024, a group of 17 university students from Sikkim visited the Rashtriya Indian Military College as part of the Indian Army's Operation Sadbhavana initiative. The visit provided the students with an opportunity to explore the esteemed institution and gain insights into the life, discipline, and training of young cadets at RIMC.During their tour, the students were briefed about the college's history, traditions, and its significant role in shaping future leaders for the Indian Armed Forces. The students were shown various facilities including the academic block, archives, library, museum, auditorium, swimming pool and cadets mess facility, giving them a glimpse of the comprehensive curriculum that combines rigorous academic training with physical and moral development.
On October 29th and 30th, 2024, Diwali was celebrated at RIMC with vibrant festivities. The celebrations began on the night of October 29th with an exciting pre-Diwali extravaganza, featuring various cultural performances, music, and dance. The following day, the festivities continued with section-wise activities that showcased creativity and tradition. Cadets from different sections enthusiastically participated in rangoli-making, poem recitations, and shloka recitations. The Diwali Utsav at RIMC was a joyful and memorable event, bringing together cadets and staff in a spirit of unity and celebration.
Classes I and II, along with masters Mr. U.P. Dalvi, Dr. Shyam Sundarasingh K., and Mrs. Heena Pandya, embarked on an exciting hike to Agra. The cadets visited the Para Brigade, explored the vibrant Sadar Bazar, and marveled at the iconic Taj Mahal and Agra Fort, both rich in Mughal history. They also took a trip to the historical site of Fatehpur Sikri, deepening their understanding of India's architectural and cultural heritage. This adventure offered the cadets a unique blend of education, exploration, and cultural immersion.
Class IA, along with masters Mr. Birjesh Chauhan, Mr. Kushi Ram, and Mrs. Neeti, embarked on an exciting hike to Ambala and Chandigarh, where they participated in a series of enriching experiences. The cadets visited the Air Force Station and attended an insightful session at the Raina Auditoriu and 19th Armoured Regiment in Patiala, contibuted in gaining a deeper understanding of military operations. The group also visited the Kharga Sainik Aramgrah and enjoyed the natural beauty of the Pinjore Garden, Rock Garden, and the serene Sukhna Lake. This adventure offered the cadets a perfect mix of education, exploration, and cultural immersion.
Classes III and IV, along with masters Mr. P.N. Naik, Mr. B.S. Chauhan, and Mrs. Aruna Sharma, embarked on an exciting hike to Chaubattia and Nainital, where they participated in various enriching activities. The cadets visited the KRC Museum, explored the beautiful Chaubattia Apple Garden, and enjoyed a scenic walk to Sunset Point. They also experienced the lush Golf Course and had an insightful unit visit and more, which offered a glimpse into the region's history and military traditions.
Classes III and IV, along with masters Mr. P.K. Jain, Mr. Karthik Chadala, and Mrs. Nikita G, embarked on an enriching hike to the historic city of Amritsar. The cadets experienced a perfect blend of education and adventure, exploring the city's rich cultural heritage. This excursion fostered camaraderie and physical endurance while immersing them in the traditions of Amritsar.
The INTACH National Heritage Quiz 2024, Dehradun Chapter, was held at the Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC) on 1st October 2024. The event saw participation from 22 schools across Dehradun, with over 150 students showcasing their knowledge of historical facts, architectural and natural heritage, and cultural practices. RIMC finished as the runners-up.
